Saving Training Costs

All training purchasers strive to achieve value for money. In this
paper David Beaumont argues for post course follow up as an aid to saving
training costs.
He refers to two ways to reinforce the course after its delivery and
makes interesting points about how costs can be wasted.

Virtual Teams

Many of our clients suffer the problems of running projects where team
members can be located anywhere in the world. We offer training in how
to handle this situation but it is important that organisations take
stock of their position before spending time and money.
To assist clients to assess the size of their problem we have developed
a questionnaire. This is free for all to use.
Complete it and then contact us to discuss how training can help.

Process Re-engineering at Deutsche Asset Management

"Most business process analysis courses are heavily IT-oriented and
make the assumption that the analysis is leading to the development
of an IT system. That seems to be the way process analysis training
has developed - too closely coupled to the IT industry. All the training
options we looked at had the same kind of IT orientation which really
didn't address our needs which included many non-IT issues."
So said Peter Ellis, DeAM director of Business Consulting and Performance.
See how Stehle Associates overcame this problem by working with Peter
and tailoring materials to meet the real needs.

Advanced Project Management?

A question that is often asked of us is whether
we can provide an 'advanced' course on Project Management. How do we
judge what is meant by 'advanced'?
Well, it's all down to good needs analysis, and
here is one solution developed by Derrick Brown, who some of you may
remember from our days together at Keith London Associates. We quote
from the introduction to the paper ...
"When an organisation or individual perceives
a need for advanced project management there is sometimes confusion
on what advanced really means. Here is a two part questionnaire that
will help to establish key areas for a training course focus."
Take a look at Derrick's questionnaire.
