- New Year Discounts
Here is your chance to get 20% off selected public courses in February and March.
For two months you can take any (or all) of:
- Business Analysis Practice
- Requirements Engineering
- Modelling Business Processes
- Organisational Context, and
- Diploma Preparation Workshop
and receive a 20% reduction on the list price.
We don't often reduce our prices, we think we already offer pretty good value, so grab this while it lasts and get a headstart toward the Diploma.
This offer applies to new bookings only and cannot be combined with any other offer.
- Stehle Passports
This is a brand new offering from Stehle Associates. The passport gives you access to four BSD Certificates and our Diploma Workshop - everything you need in order to sit the examination for the Diploma in Business Analysis.
It's an opportunity to take advantage of our training at reduced rates, to schedule your training when it suits you, and to attend courses in the sequence you want.
For flexibility, content and cost effectiveness it's difficult to see why you would go anywhere else.
Details of the scheme are shown on our 'passports' page.
- New Resources loaded
The resources page is slowly building and we thought it might be fun to use it for the occasional personal rant. David Beaumont immediately leapt onto one of his pet soapboxes and the result is now there for all to see.
He really needs to get out more.
We will be adding more papers in the future so why not bookmark resources?
- Dates for Direct-entry Examinations
Dates for 2012 have been posted. These direct-entry examinations are held once a month in London and provide experienced candidates with a way to sit the exams without needing to take a course first.
This does not affect candidates taking our training courses, they still sit the exam at the conclusion of the course, but offers increased flexibility to other candidates. Remember you can mix and match - a course for one module, direct entry exam for another.
Full details of these sessions, plus dates and prices can be found at 'exams'. A booking form is available from that page.
- Sole provider of Data Management Certificate
Did you know that Stehle Associates is the only authorised provider of the ISEB examination leading to the Certificate in Data Management Essentials? Why not come directly to us to gain this valuable qualification.
While we are at it we just have to crow about Keith Gordon's book on data management, titled (surprisingly perhaps) Principles of Data Management. The comments we receive about it are uniformly positive, with candidates for both our courses and the ISEB Certificate exam praising its quality.
Keith delivers our data management courses and we obviously regard this publication as an excellent volume to acquire if you are looking gain the ISEB Certificate in Data Management.
- New Syllabuses for BAE and MBP
BCS has announced new syllabuses for BAE and MBP to take effect from 1 February, and further changes are due - see below.
The changes include BAE being re-named as Business Analysis Practice (BAP) and make the modules even more relevant to aspiring Business Analysts. We have taken this opportunity to revise and improve our courses and will be running courses and examinations based on the new syllabuses with immediate effect.
But direct-entry exam customers should not worry that their revision is no longer valid. If customers do have concerns then please contact us to discuss the changes.
It's just good fortune that the new syllabuses have arrived in time for our discount offer - see opposite! Call us now to book your place.
- Changes to Organisational Context
BCS will be revising the syllabus for OC, and changing the module name to Commercial Awareness, from 1 April.
Unlike the changes to BAE and MBP, this is quite a significant revision of the content and exam candidates should be aware that no exams will be based on the existing OC syllabus after 31 March. (Re-sits will be accepted for three months.)
Course delegates will benefit from our new CA course from 1 April (subject to accreditation) but should be aware that the examination will be multiple choice, not scenario-based, with questions set by BCS. Direct-entry candidates should note that we will not be offering CA on our open sessions, at least not initially, because of logistical difficulties.
If anyone has any questions please let us know.
- Price Update
The change of style of examination between Organisational Context and Commercial Awareness is accompanied by an increase in the price we are charged by BCS for each exam candidate. We have held our course prices for at least the past four years but we cannot absorb the full increase this time. Accordingly the fee for CA, including the exam, will rise by £30 to £600 plus VAT.
We regret this need, particularly when all our finances are suffering, so we are passing on only a part of the increase.
The good news is that we have reduced our day rate for in-house courses, plus our new Stehle Passport gives you really cost-effective training.
Take a look at our in-house T&Cs for the details and watch out for any special offers that we will publicise here.
- Data Management success
Keith Gordon took our Data management Essentials course to new pastures just before Christmas. He enjoyed a trip to Saudi Arabia to teach the course to a team of data management staff of one of the oil companies there.
He may have to fish out his passport again early this year if discussions for a run of the course in the US end favourably.
It's good to see that major corporations recognise the importance of data.
